Who We Are
Uganda has made a deliberate revolutionary decision to take the path of a Science and Technology Innovation (STI) - driven industrial value chain development; and a national STI secretariat has been established. To contribute to this agenda, we are developing a functional national network of STI excellence as a foundry for accelerated transformative STI human capital development.
Our solution is innovative. We bring on board a functional national network of STI excellence as key strategy and mechanism for molding skilled STI human capital, bridging young people to STI-driven opportunities and players, while ensuring self-reliance and boosting industrialization.
This deliberate move will marshal the fragmented STI human capacity and infrastructure in the public and private sectors to systematically mould a well-thought national mechanism (framework) for sustainable STI human capital development and utilization. This intervention will establish a solid base for industrial value chains development and spark Uganda as a regional hub for (1) skilled STI human capital, (2) technological innovations and services for high-value industries, including research and education, (3) industries to employ many among prioritized industrial value chains.
